Minor in Operations Research or Systems Engineering

Minor in Operations Research

Undergraduate students in the School of Engineering and Applied Science with majors other than systems engineering may graduate with a minor in operations research in addition to their major.

Four courses are required for the minor. Choose from the following:

  • EMSE 2705: Mathematics in Operations Research
  • EMSE 3701: Operations Research Methods
  • EMSE 3740: Systems Thinking and Policy Modeling I
  • EMSE 3760: Discrete Systems Simulation
  • EMSE 4710: Applied Optimization Modeling
  • EMSE 4755: Quality Control and Acceptance Sampling

Depending on the student's major, additional credit hours beyond the minimum required for the major may be necessary in order to complete the minor in operations research. Please contact your advisor for more information.
 

Minor in Systems Engineering

Undergraduate students in the School of Engineering and Applied Science with majors other than systems engineering may graduate with a minor in systems engineering in addition to their major.

Depending on the student's major, additional credit hours beyond the minimum required for the major may be necessary in order to complete the minor in systems engineering. Please contact your advisor for more information.
 

Study in Operations Research

Undergraduate students in schools and colleges of The George Washington University other than the School of Engineering and Applied Science may graduate with study in operations research or systems engineering in addition to their major. The course requirements for this study are identical to those given above for the minor in operations research or the minor in systems engineering.
