Mechanical Engineering - Senior

Hello there, and greetings crossing the globe from Saudi Arabia (yes, that’s where I’m from) to you! I’m the vice-president of SEASSPAN, which is great because that means I’m on the top of the website instead of being at the end :) You will probably see me walking around campus trying to attend every meeting for every student org, trying a new restaurant in DC, or just exploring a new metro stop. In short, I love exploring and trying new and different things! When I finally settle down, you can always expect me to be playing with my Xbox, watching any sport that is not American football, binge watching a short show or anime, or even cooking and hoping no one gets food poison. I’m really excited to see all of you and welcome you to the SEAS community :)

Biomedical Engineering - Junior

Hi! I’m Annette and I’m from the Dominican Republic —so pretty much saying that I love the beach is a given. When there is no sand nearby, I really enjoy going on long walks, which lately have been to the National Mall or Georgetown, drinking (too much) coffee, and hanging out with my friends. However, you’re most likely to find me on the 4th floor of Tompkins blasting loud music (in my earphones) while doing work. I’m so excited to meet you all so don’t be afraid to say hi!

Computer Science - Sophomore

Hi you all! I’m from the little city of Falls Church, Virginia, and have lived here my whole life. Sometimes it feels like I want to do everything, but I’ve got to take it one step at a time. My current shenanigans include sporadically roller skating at 2am, signing up for too many extracurricular activities, and not being able to sit still while I eat. What gives my life meaning is never being afraid to chase my dreams and challenge myself, and if that resonates with you, I think we’ll be great friends. Going to GW has been one of the most eye-opening experiences for me and I hope I can introduce you to everything GW has to offer. Welcome to SEAS and I can’t wait to get to know all of you as individuals!

Civil Engineering - Sophomore

Hey y’all! I’m from Austin, TX (the cool part of Texas), and I love reading, traveling, and watching TV/movies with my cats. I’m a civil engineering major with a classical studies minor! I am involved in Alpha Omega Epsilon, ASCE, Steel Bridge, the Engineers’ Council, and the Clark Scholar’s Program. My favorite thing about being in DC is casually walking past famous organizations/buildings, and my favorite thing about GW is the SEAS community. I can’t wait to meet you all and please reach out if you have any questions!!

Hey everyone! I’m a senior civil engineering major from Tewksbury, New Jersey (yes, central Jersey exists) and love going to Wawa! Civil engineering is part of almost everything we do and what better place to study it than in our nation’s capital? When I’m not running around in SEH, you can find me chilling at Compass Coffee or reading on the National Mall! Besides engineering, my interests are welding, baking, thrift shopping, and axe throwing (just for fun, of course). Come to me whenever you’re in need of a terrible joke and any mental health or academic advice. I’m so excited to meet all of you and once again, congrats and welcome to SEAS!

You may not believe it, but I’m from Nashville! I do microplastic and biophysics research and am always around in SEH. I love drawing and doodling in my free time and have an addiction to coffee and TikTok (it’s really bad). Hope to see you guys soon!

Hey guys! My name is Jacob and I’m from Philadelphia, PA. You can find me in SEH, Milken, or District either studying, working, or talking with friends. I also like playing tennis and the saxophone, but I always enjoy going out with friends. I’m involved in ACM (Association of Computer Machinery), Cyber, Theta Tau, and SEASSPAN. I’m excited to get to know all of you this fall!

Hi, I am from Fairfax, VA. When I am not at Jiu-Jitsu practice, I’m probably out and about roller skating. Phineas and Ferb are my role models. I am great at embodying NPC energy and I’m certifiably a water and ASMR enthusiast. I’m excited to meet you all!

My other interests include taking walks/the metro to explore D.C. and going to the beach when I am back at home. Hello! I was born in Alexandria, VA but I grew up in Dubai, U.A.E. I am involved in a few different things on campus such as research, the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), and SEAS Together. You’ll probably find me on the 5th floor of SEH doing work and drinking a Black Tie from Peets! Otherwise, I'm probably outside looking for good food and fun activities to do (except in the spring because of the pollen…). In my free time, I love cooking, baking, and sightseeing. Hey, y’all! My name is Matias (Mah-Tee-As) and I am from Charleston, SC, but was born in Guatemala. You can usually find me in District studying or eating. I am involved in Theta Tau, Tau Kappa Epsilon, and of course SEASSPAN. If you see me running around everywhere talking really fast, it’s because I definitely took a bit too much caffeine. On a chill day, I love playing video games and watching anime, but I also love going out with friends and living in the moment. I can’t wait to meet y’all this fall!!! OH! I also love my dogs :)

Hey everyone! My name’s Michael and I’m from Warwick, Rhode Island (Del’s Lemonade, Rocky Point, coffee milk, anything ring a bell?). When I’m not studying in SEH, you can catch me swimming on GW’s club team, going on late-night walks to the monuments, and eating way too much &pizza. I’m always looking for new places to explore around the city - especially a rooftop with a good view - so talk to me if you want a recommendation or have a suggestion of something I should try. I’m also a big MCU buff and am fully ready to debate with anyone about character or movie rankings (if Captain America: The Winter Soldier isn’t in your top 5, we’ve got issues). Hello everyone! I’m Rebecca! I am from a small town in Massachusetts called Sturbridge (If you grew up in New England, chances are you have been to Old Sturbridge Village on a school field trip)! You can usually find me in SEH by the green wall doing work or getting distracted by friends! I am involved in BMES, SWE, Alpha Omega Epsilon, and Club Swim. When I am not studying, you can usually catch me in the pool or walking aimlessly around DC discovering new things and places. Hi guys! I’m Timi and I am a senior studying Biomedical Engineering. I am from Mississauga, Canada and I like to spend my time at home sketching the natural Canadian landscape. Some of the other things I love include soccer, basketball, video games and taking long walks through the city while listening to anime music. When I am not busy with schoolwork you could find me somewhere in SEH watching reality TV shows like Love Is Blind and The Bachelor. My name is Yazan, but I usually go by Yaz. I was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland but I currently live in DC. I enjoy riding my bike around the city and I often bike to campus. Soccer is a big part of my life, so when I am not busy being an engineer student, there's a good chance I am either playing soccer, watching soccer, or playing FIFA. I also occasionally play tennis, but my serve needs a lot of work. I am looking forward to meeting you all!
